Which designs are included in the girls’ collection?

The collection includes sewing patterns for girls’ dresses, blouses, jackets, trousers, sleepwear and other garments.

Some children’s designs have a universal cut and can be used for both girls and boys.

New designs and sizes are gradually added to the collection.

How do I choose the correct size for a girl?

Choose the size according to the child’s actual body measurements rather than age alone. Use the children’s size selection calculator on the ERGOMODELS website and compare the result with the children’s size chart.

For dresses, blouses and jackets, the chest measurement is usually the main reference. For trousers and shorts, consider the waist and hip measurements. The child’s height should also be checked.

Which files are included with a children’s PDF sewing pattern?

After purchase, you receive the pattern in the selected size in two formats:

  • PDF A4 for printing on a home printer;
  • PDF A0 Copyshop for large-format printing at a print shop, copy centre or on a plotter.

Both formats are included in the same purchase.

An information sheet is also included, containing the list of pattern pieces, cutting layout, fabric requirements, main garment lengths, wearing ease and fabric recommendations.

Which fabric should I choose for children’s clothing?

Choose the fabric according to the construction of the design, the season, the child’s age and the care requirements of the finished garment.

Softness, breathability, freedom of movement and resistance to repeated washing are particularly important for children’s clothing.

The recommended fabric type and required amount of stretch are provided in the product description and information sheet.

Are children’s patterns suitable for beginners?

The level of difficulty depends on the construction of the selected design.

For a first project, it is better to choose a garment with a small number of pieces, without a complicated fastening or difficult sewing techniques.

Before starting, study the list of pattern pieces and the information on the product page. Make a test garment when necessary.
