Garment Production Preparation

ERGOMODELS provides professional production preparation for individual garments and complete collections, including marker making, fabric consumption calculations and technical production documentation for each style.

Accurate preparation helps organise cutting and sewing more efficiently, reduce fabric consumption and provide the production team with clear, consistent information.

Production Marker Making

Pattern markers are created according to the garment construction, fabric characteristics and requirements of each production order. Each marker is prepared for the agreed fabric width, size ratio and production quantity.

garment type and construction

fabric width and properties

grainline direction

nap

print

stripes or checks

pattern-piece direction and symmetry

total production quantity

size and height range

required quantity of each size

cutting and production restrictions

Automatic Pattern Nesting

We use modern professional CAD software for automatic pattern nesting and marker optimisation. After automatic nesting, every marker is reviewed by a specialist and adjusted manually where necessary.

Process large numbers of pattern pieces and sizes efficiently
Identify a rational arrangement of pattern pieces
Maintain grainline direction and cutting restrictions
Include the required quantity of each size
Compare alternative marker arrangements
Calculate actual fabric consumption
Add an image to showcase your pattern nesting process

Pattern and Production Marker Printing

After the digital files have been prepared and checked, we print patterns and production markers on a wide-format plotter at full 1:1 scale.

We can print:

  • the base-size pattern set
  • patterns in selected sizes and height groups
  • the complete graded pattern set
  • production markers prepared for the required size ratio and quantities
  • markers for the agreed fabric type and width

Before printing, we check the scale, size identification, pattern-piece names, grainlines, control points, notches and total marker length.

The client receives clearly printed patterns or a complete production marker ready for the cutting room. This saves cutting time and removes the need to prepare and print the files independently.
